Larry Morace

Visual Arts Instructor

Larry Morace grew up in Louisiana and went to college in Indiana where he initially studied pre-med and psychology. After receiving a BA from Indiana University, he joined a group of videographers, and co-produced several documentaries and taught video courses. He later studied fine arts photography and painting at IU.

Larry moved to the Bay Area in the 1980s and joined the artist colony at Hunters Point Naval Shipyard, where he has maintained a studio ever since. He has had numerous one-person shows and has been in group shows in the U.S. and Japan. He is included in numerous art publications, including The Language of Painting, published by Harper Collins, a book on fine art painting used by university art programs.

In addition to teaching at Creativity Explored, Larry has taught art to both adolescents and adults. He periodically teaches at the Arts Benicia education program in Benicia, where he also keeps a studio.
